The Rundkugels I showed in video have been discontinued. They were extra large and designed for break barrels. They did work in Daisy BB magazine system. But even though they were the most accurate ball ammo I ever shot, they could be troublesome being so big, and the last time out in the field, a ball poked out of the gate and blocked me loading the ready ball in to the breech. I had to tip it away and down, shake it, and then the ball fell back inside; and I could close the rod and load forward ball.
THE EFFORT WAS WORTH IT, AND A FERREL RABBIT WAS PUT AWAY WITH FOLLOW UP SHOT.
Gamo ball ammo loads easily in Daisy magazine. But the Gamo lead balls aren't as accurate, and can vary in size. They can be undersized and roll down the barrel.
When the few remaining Rundkugels are used up, I will switch to Gamo ball ammo. I know a trick for Gamo balls:
▶️Cock the bolt - leave it back.
▶️Drop one Gamo ball down into the breech
▶️If it rolls down the barrel, set it aside.
▶️If it doesn't run down the barrel, it is a
winner! Use a rod to tap, and put in a winnner pile like the tin lid.
▶️LEAVE YOUR BOLT BACK during this process. Actually loading ball will score it, and it won't work a 2nd time on a real shot.
▶️For good ball ammo, take a rod and tap it out the breech. The best way for faster sorting is to leave the rod in the barrel, and back it out 3 inches. You will hear if it rolls. THEN pull out the rod to confirm it. Let it roll out. If ball is not a roller, quickly push the rod forward and keep ball.
▶️Finally, open your ammo hatch and put winner pile inside your 880 magazine.
⚠️This can take some time depending on your breech width. Go for 10 to 25 balls. My 77xs, where the German ball ammo resides, has a rather wide breech and many Gamo balls roll down the barrel. Another 880 standing right next to the 77xs, fits the Gamo balls very well. Breech variance happens from gun to gun.⚠️

FERREL RABBITS
My 77xs has heen tasked with wiping out ferrel rabbits. Now I haven't talked about this on YouTube, but it is important. Any animal rights people can't approve of HOW my neighborhood was being over run by rabbits.
A guy in the area had a pet exotic snake, and he bought bunnies to feed to it. Some managed to get away - and escape being lunch. That and other folks in town buying bunnies (so cute!) because their girlfriends wanted one, but then got bored when they were full grown rabbits...setting them free.
The neighbors and I have gotten it under control. My personal tally is 9 rabbits hit and 7 in hand.
Domed pellets made the first hit, but the 880 isn't a magnum, so three times I needed FOLLOW UP SHOTS. The Rundkugels inside my 77xs SAVED MY BACON!
On one recent outing, I actually missed the critter, but as I was cursing and getting mad at myself, it appeared 14 yards away in open grass, standing tall at alert. I kneeled and rested the 77xs on a bush branch. I aimed under the silhouette, fired, and on just six pumps, knocked it out! The ball flew high and said hello to the eyeball. Not where I was aiming, but, honestly, I just worked to score a hit. I'll take it!👏🍾🤗
