The time was in 2014, when a group of young students realized that they could not just sit by and watch people suffer anymore and decided to do something for the society. They decided to help those unfortunate souls stuck in poverty and those stuck by disasters of different kinds. The group started off as Asha - The light of hope and recently it was changed to Ashia Foundation. Six years and 20+ events later, the organization has recently renamed itself as Ashia Foundation and now has 16 employees, most of whom are currently university and school students. All of them have the same ambition, the same aspiration in their hearts- to help those that are in need of it the most. They are currently collecting funds to help mitigate shortages in equipment in hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.
