In collaboration with the Oakland Museum of California’s volunteer Día de los Muertos Committee, we transform our campus into a sacred space for our annual community celebration, which brings together people from Oakland and across the Bay Area.
Learn more about the installation of this ofrenda (offering altar), In Remembrance of the Innocents, created in honor and remembrance of the world’s innocents who have lost their lives due to the current disastrous events caused by nature or humankind.
Members of the museum’s volunteer Día de los Muertos Committee created this installation for OMCA’s 30th annual Día de los Muertos celebration in 2024.
