As a result of the fires, approximately 45 homes along Piihana Road were evacuated, with precautionary evacuation messages sent to residents of Happy Valley and Wailuku Heights. Forward progress of the fires was stopped by 11:36am, and the fires were fully contained by 2:45pm. Crews remain on the scene to continue mopping up the area. All evacuations were lifted just after 1:00pm. In this video I cover the flooding on Oahu, Hawaii by a new "Kona low" weather system, which is a term I never heard while growing up there. Kona winds were usually dry winds from the South, but this "Kona low" is bringing a years worth of record breaking rains to the islands of Hawaii and Oahu, as well as Kauai. In anticipation of the rains from the system, Governor Green has declared yet another emergency proclamation and has activated the EOC for Honolulu. State Senator Tim Richards from Kona was quoted as saying, "I'm not sure we can say we have normal weather patterns anymore."
