Why are some animals considered taboo to eat?

TREY the Explainer 2020-05-03 | Hello there guys! I am guessing most of my viewers in America typically love their beef and pork meals, but this is not the case for everyone. All around the world, cultures and societies have taboos and practices that limit what animals they can eat. In this short little video, I will attempt to discuss the possible anthropological explanations of why certain animals - namely pigs and cows - are considered "taboo" to eat in some cultures.

This time I discuss the "mystery" of the De Loys' Ape, a Bigfoot-like primate that was photographed deep within the jungles of South America and is claimed to be an undiscovered ape man. We will tackle the question on if this really is an undiscovered species or not. Additionally, I discuss the history of European and American exploration into the "undiscovered" jungles of South America in the early to mid 20th century such as Percy Fawcett's adventures.

No don't worry, I wasn't dissing David Attenborough at 3:28. I was doing the opposite, I was praising him for being a person that's probably actually worth of the title of being an "Indiana Jones". I love the guy and the other scientists I listed as they actually did contribute to scientific understanding unlike some of the other people I mention in this video.
