People love different shapes of guitars. Someone likes Gibson SG, Les Paul, Explorer or Flying V. Someone likes Fender Strat or Telecaster, Mustang or Jazzmaster. Someone likes Superstrats, crazy BC Rich Warlock or Mockingbird. And I thought: what if I make a DIY guitar without a body at all. Well, more precisely, it will have a body, but a minimalist and simplest one - so that only the most necessary things fit on it.
It's kind of like a cigar box guitar, but without the box.
To make the body, I found an old wooden board (about 10 centimeters wide). Therefore, I think that this recycled project can definitely be called Trash to Treasure. I also used the cheapest single pickup (about $4) and the cheapest Fixed Non String Through Hardtail Bridges I could find ($10). The most expensive part of the guitar is the neck. I used an old neck from an old cheap Harley Benton guitar (the whole guitar was less than $60).

As I understand, this is a cheap Chinese copy of a more expensive device called Chord Buddy (Beginner Guitar Learning Tool). But this is exactly what online stores will offer you if you are looking for a Chord Buddy. There are C, D, G and Em chords here. The box says: “Works on acoustic and electric guitars”. No way... ))
So, in this review, I will unpack it, then install this thing on my guitar, then make a demonstration (I'll try to play some melodies with these four chords), and finally I will draw conclusions: can this device teach you how to play the guitar.

This bow costs nothing, but allows you to expand the possibilities of the sound of the guitar. I can't say that your guitar will sound exactly like a violin or cello, but the sound will be closer to these music instruments than to a regular acoustic guitar.
To make a guitar bow you will need: wooden ruler, cable tie, binder clip and regular sewing thread. And don't forget to rub the thread with rosin. You can use special rosin for violin or cello bows, or you can use rosin for soldering.
"V" shape of the bow allows you to insert this bow between two strings and play with both sides. And if you push it deeper, you can play on two strings at the same time.

You can place keys, glasses, clothes or musical (guitar) accessories on it. It can also be used as a picture holder (or photo display), since the photos are perfectly fixed between "strings".
The basis of this Do-It-Yourself project is a laminate flooring plank which was left as a rubbish in a pile of leftover materials after someone's apartment makeover. Therefore, I think that this recycled project can differently be called Trash to Treasure.
In addition to the wooden or laminate board (as a fingerboard), you will need: a pencil (as a guitar nut), aluminum foil tape or other metallic tape (as frets), white paper and a hole punch or furniture stickers (as marker dots), thumbtack pins (to fasten the “strings”), yarn (for strings), drawing pins (as hooks for keys, clothes, accessories).

Vintage Electric Guitar Restoration - 1976 Old Semi-acoustic Guitar Repair

Mykola MrHardGuitar - Guitar Reviews And Lessons 2023-12-09 | This is a restoration and repair video of a hollow-body (semi-acoustic) electric guitar that was made in Ukraine in 1976 (then it was a part of the USSR). Briefly about the restoration work I did on this guitar:
Refinishing / Painting
Tuning pegs replacement

Frets replacement
Deep cleaning and moisturizing of the neck
Bridge replacement

Now in detail. I bought this Lviv guitar for $30. It was in really terrible condition. When I saw this dirty and rusty guitar for the first time, I immediately understood that it needed a complete refinish. As I understood, someone in the nineties modified it badly (as a clue I found an old bus ticket of already independent Ukraine inside). To get to the electronics, the previous "luthier" simply cut off a piece of the guitar and then covered the hole with a piece of plastic. The frets on the neck were almost flat so I had to replace them. The fingerboard on this guitar has almost no radius (yes, it's almost completely flat). I also had to restore the part of the headstock (it was cut with a saw because it was an obstacle for the non-original pegs). I also had to remove rust and old paint from the tailpiece. This guitar had a lot of holes from the previous bridges, pickguards, etc.
Overall, there isn't a spot left on this guitar that I haven't restored.

First of all we need to set the capo to the fifth fret. If you don't have one, you can use the old trick with a pencil from this video: youtu.be/dV-DsdlU8oA . Now place your thumb between the sixth and the fifth strings (so, we just mute them). The remaining four strings - exactly match the strings on the ukulele. Additionally, you can put nylon strings on the guitar (this will make the sound more like a ukulele). But do not forget that nylon strings will not sound on an electric guitar.
By the way, the fact that there are six strings on the guitar, but we have only five fingers, always annoyed me. If it annoys you too - write about it in the comments, or tell your therapist.

Guitar strings can be a great gift only if you know which strings this guitarist uses. Otherwise your gift will never be used. Once I was given strings of a completely different gauge than I use. And I even didn't start using them. And this problem is quite common. For example, the guitarist of the Black Sabbath Tony Iommi is given so many strings that he does not use that he has to make jewelry out of them and sell them online.

You can find many sets for cleaning a guitar on internet. There are sets with just wipes and cleaners, and sets with a bunch of accessories (like capo, keys and cleaners as well). So, why Lego? First of all, for me every fuzz sounds as it is made of plastic. Secondly - Lego allows us to make this pedal without special tools. And most importantly - you can make a design of any color, decorate with any elements, and it will always be original!
You can make this pedal even if you have no experience at all. Then it will take you about 10 minutes (plus about 15-20 minutes for the Lego enclosure). But this pedal can be made even in 7 or even 5 min.
Don't be afraid to experiment! You can use slightly different details. For example, instead of 1n4148 diode can be 1n914 diode, instead of 4.7μF Electrolytic Capacitor you can use 2.2μF.

GFS Twin Hi-Gain Review – Two-channel Overdrive-Distortion Pedal By Guitarfetish Electronics Demo

Mykola MrHardGuitar - Guitar Reviews And Lessons 2022-05-21 | This is a review and demo of the Twin Hi-Gain pedal by Guitarfetish (GFS Electronics). It's a two-channel overdrive (maybe even distortion). In the official description is written: “The Lead channel is like a Turbo Rat mixed with a good old fashioned Tube Screamer, but with the warmth and "vocal" upper mids that you get from the great Marshall JCM-800 and JCM-900 amps. The Turbo side is the modern tube overdrive sound – like JCM-2000... very bold with TONS of gain and analog Vacuum Tube feel and quality”. But this description does not quite coincide with reality. But it's still a good pedal. I feel lack gain on both channels. And both channels are too warm for my taste. The Lead channel is like overdrive with medium gain and the Turbo channel is like fuzzy overdrive. Something like the first albums of ZZ Top. But if you turn on both channels at the same time, a completely new sound appears. I think this is a wonderful and what is most importantly – original pedal for electric guitar.

I can tell you which guitar is the best exactly for me right now.
So what guitar to buy? Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, Mustang, Jaguar or Jazzmaster? Gibson Les Paul, SG or Explorer.
My main message – don't buy Gibson SG only because Tony Iommi and Angus Young played it. And don't buy Fender Stratocaster only because of George Harrison, Eric Clapton or John Frusciante. The brand of guitar is not a guarantee of success, of good music and of pleasant way to play it.

Mykola MrHardGuitar - Guitar Reviews And Lessons 2021-06-27 | This is a review of Xtrem Floating Tailpiece Vibrato from Guitarfetish. You can install it without drilling new holes in your guitar and this Vibrato is relatively cheap.
So let's check – will this thing be good enough to stop being jealous of people who already have a vibrato or tremolo system on their guitars (like Bigsby, Floyd Rose or Fender Vintage Tremolo).
Xtrem Vibrato comes in four colors – chrome, nickel, black and gold. It looks pretty strong and solid.
It should be assembled to the strap pin. Everything is very simple. And, if you want, you can fasten it with screws. But it's not necessary.
The main problem that guitarists are worried about things like this – is a tuning stability. I tested this vibrato for over a week... and... My guitar stays in tune longer than before. It's weird, but it's true. The main reason is that the tension on the bridge is very much reduced. And I would not say it makes the sustain shorter.
This vibrato can go one full step down and one full step up. Which expands the possibilities of your guitar.

8 Super Tips To Keep Your Guitar In Tune – Ways To Fix Guitar Tuning Problem Without Replacing Pegs

Mykola MrHardGuitar - Guitar Reviews And Lessons 2021-06-17 | In this video I want to share with you 8 easy life-hacks that might help your guitar stay in tune longer.
A large number of guitarists try to solve problems with tuning stability by changing tuning pegs. I must say that this way is one of the most extreme. It is not cheap and it does not always help. So let's think of it, as of the last possible option.

Most of these guitar tips are suitable for Gibson style guitars. Some are also suitable for Fender style guitars and even acoustic guitars as well.
So, let's get started.

1.
The next time you change strings, apply a small amount of pencil lead to the nut. This will help the strings slide better. Therefore, the strings will not get stuck in the nut.

2.
The most problematic strings are the third and the fourth. Use a nail file to slightly change the angle of the slots in the nut. A nail file is a good tool - because it does not make the slots deeper. The angle of the slots should go in the direction to the pegs of the third and the fourth strings. This operation will prevent strong bending of the strings. Which means that they will move fluently on the nut.

3.
After inserting the string to the peg's hole - wind it higher than a hole. This will raise the position of the string for a few millimeters. As a result, the pressure on the nut will decrease.

4.
As in the previous tip – try to reduce the tension of the strings. But now - from the other end of the strings. Raise the stopbar for a few millimeters. If you are worried that this will reduce the sustain of your guitar – don't be. Many famous guitarists raise their stopbars as high as possible - and the sustain does not become shorter. Just try it.
So now the angle of the strings that are lying on the bridge is less acute. The tension of the strings is reduced - and their mobility on the bridge is increased.

5.
If you still do not want to lift the stopbar - I recommend making the top wrapping. The point of this tip - as in the previous one. But the stopbar can be left as low as possible.

6.
This tip is pretty obvious, but it can work. Try strings of different gauge and different brands.
And a bonus advice! Personally, I'm not a fan of D'Addario strings,
but I found that their wound 3rd string holds the tuning really good. There should be a letter W near the third string on the package. Or you can buy this kind of string separately.

7.
This advice is a kind of urban guitar legend. This legend says that the magnets in the pickups slightly attract the strings — therefore make your guitar out of tune. To prevent this - you need to lower the pickups. Personally, I did not notice a difference in the stability of the tuning. But the guitar started sound better. So I recommend you to try it too.

8.
And finally, my favorite tip. Install a string tree that will change the bending angle of two most problematic strings (third and fourth).
If you don't know where to get it, just ask a friend who has the Fender to play his guitar for a minute. Unscrew the string tree, return the guitar and run.
The guitar tree should be installed to the place where the screw holds the truss rod cover. So you don't have to make new holes in your guitar. Now we got rid of the strong bending of the strings.

I got coronavirus. I was in the hospital, where some pretty loud machine provided me with oxygen. Anyway. I survived! I am at home now full of antibodies and side effect of corona.

Not a long time ago Eric Clapton (a very popular guitarist – in case you don't know) complained about side effects of COVID vaccine. Quote: “The reactions were disastrous, my hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning, and pretty much useless for two weeks, I feared I would never play again”. I was discharged from the hospital almost two months ago. And, mister Clapton, I still have tremor in my hands. They are cold and are not sensitive. All my muscles hurt even after a slight activity. When I try to play a guitar – I miss stings and get tired in ten minutes. For two months now! Not two weeks, mister Clapton. If I only had a chance to get a vaccine before I fell ill – I would definitely take the vaccine. It is an awful disease. Twenty percent of my lungs are disabled. I had panic attacks. I could not go up the stairs to the second floor because of pain in the whole body. And I still can't play a guitar! Two weeks?! Ridiculous.

I really hope this tiredness and fatigue, brain fog and tremor in hands and fingers will be over soon. And I'll be able to play a guitar. And of course – to film videos for my channel. Because I can't even imagine how you guys lived without my videos. What at all you were watching when I was at the hospital? I promise I will recover soon, to film new videos and therefore to make your lives better.

101% True Review Of PocketDrum 2 by AeroBand (Air Drums and Air Drumsticks) – With IdunnGoddess

Basically this is an air drum kit but with two virtual pedals. It should be connected to your phone via Bluetooth and it works with it's own app which is free to download.
My name is Idunn, and I'm Mykola's girlfriend. You will not see Mykola in this video - because he is in the hospital now struggling with COVID-19. So I've decided to support him by filming this video for his channel which he really loves. And I love him... And you guys, please support him too with your likes and comments.
I start this video describing positive sides of this air drum sticks. Which are: great futuristic design, fast Bluetooth connection, and of course it is awesome, that there are no wires that could immobilize you.
But then I describe and show problems that I and Mykola faced to. Like sound delay, exhausting game mode (similar to the Guitar Hero game) which you have to pass to unlock all the drums and all the drums sounds, loss of drums positions (you kick crash cymbal, but get snare drum sound, for example) etc.
These air drum sticks PocketDrum 2 by AeroBand are great but great as an idea, as a concept and as a startup that needs a lot of improvements. Maybe four Bluetooth sound devices is too much for today's technology. And maybe developers could give us more freedom in choosing what to play and how play for the high price they set.

I figured out how to play it after listening to its piece in the teaser. Classic chords for this group: G5, D5, A5 and E5. I know they dedicate this album to Malcolm Young (Angus Young and Brian Johnson talked about it in an interview), so I think they intentionally wrote this song very similar to the early AC/DC's songs.

This is not a classic fuzz. It turns the sound of your guitar into a... strange noise. But it is called The Noise Ensemble! Maybe fans of some industrial or grunge music will like it?
The design of this pedal is a reference to The Simpsons episode - "22 Short Films About Springfield", which later became a meme: “Steamed Hams but it's”. Instead of knobs, there are custom miniature beer cans with the image of Principal Skinner. The first can of beer is for volume. The second is for effects - it adds all the effects at once: reverb, delay, chorus, flange, pitchshifting and vibrato. There is also an additional function on this pedal - loop footswitch.
When I first saw pedals by Gojira FX, I was amazed. Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Futurama and a lot of other cool designs.

If you want to play something classic - then this pedal is not for you.
Gojira FX makes a lot of more useful pedals. Tube Screamer, Big Muff, Rat style pedals.
But if you want to try something very uncommon or experimental then this pedal is for you.
