Even though fans won't be in attendance for Iowa State's football opener, that doesn't mean the stands will be totally empty. The Cyclone Marching Band will spread out on the bleachers of the east side of the stadium to allow for over 7 feet of separation between band members. But social distancing is just one part of a large and ever-changing set of safety measures the band has come up with. They will also wear custom-designed face coverings, use bell coverings, and they even have specially made instrument bags to limit aerosols released through key holes. For more information on additional safety procedures the band is taking, visit https://www.news.iastate.edu/news/2020/09/11/band
