German Air Force (Luftwaffe) Eurofighter EF2000 (Typhoon) 31+06 from Tactical Fighter Wing 74, Neuberg, doing a solo display at RAF Fairford on Friday of The Royal International Air Tattoo 2024.
Tactical Fighter Wing 74 are known as 'Bavarian Tigers' and the aircraft was given this very nice artistic livery, known as 'Cyborg Tiger' for the 2024 display season.
This was the only display flown by the 'Cyborg Tiger' liveried aircraft during the show, as it was replaced with the spare aircraft on each of the next two days.
This EF2000 was manufactured in 2013 with construction number GS082, is equipped with a pair of Eurojet EJ200 engines and was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 4 December 2013.
Germany currently operates 138 EF2000's and has the second largest number of Eurofighters after the UK. It still refers to the type simply as the Eurofighter, or EF2000, rather than the Typhoon. Four of the air arm's Taktischen Luftwaffengeschwader (Tactical Air Wings or TLG's) fly the aircraft in Luftwaffe service, with TLG 31 at Norvenich, TLG 71 at Wittmund, TLG 73 at Laage and TLG 74 at Neuberg. Germany initially utilised the Eurofighter solely in the air-to-air role but is now developing its employment of the aircraft's multi-role capabilities.
Pilot for this display was Captain Alex.... (callsign 'Noble'), who was the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) solo display pilot 2022-24.
