Many of us in the security industry, whether just starting out or seasoned professionals know the cybersecurity industry, in terms of career prospects, has been quite turbulent.
There are many reasons why this is perhaps happening, even despite the industry's obsession with a so called skills shortage gap.
Ultimately, I am starting to subscribe to the idea the requirements and expectations of a cybersecurity professional are experiencing a evolution.
Whether these evolved requirements are good or bad is subject to interpretation. It's been difficult for me to see more of the good than bad.
I want to break down what and where I see the changes happening in the context of career changes, skills, and job hunting.
As we all know, perhaps the most impactful change occurring in the industry is AI, but I also think there has been a general shift in security investment as well.
