Evan Salazar won the Emerging Talent Award for works that include his self-published Rodeo, an anthology with memorable characters and a distinctive style.

Caitlin McGurk, chair of CXC’s award committee, Curator of Comics and Cartoon Art of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum and Lucy Shelton Caswell, co-founder of CXC, Founding Curator of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum presented the award to Evan Salazar with the CXC 2023 Emerging Talent Prize on CXC’s expo floor on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
