Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has built a roster unlike any we've ever seen in a fighting game. With nearly 90 characters to play as, it covers a wide array of series, genres, companies, console generations, archetypes, fighting styles, you name it! It's so much of an achievement that some fans are already dreading the day when the next Smash game cuts down on the roster.

Not that it's stopped fans and content creators alike from wondering how they would cut the roster down if it was their decision to make! More than just jumping onboard a popular trend, I thought closely about how best to trim down the roster in realistic fashion while keeping as much variety in the traits mentioned above as possible.
