A 'meme' is an idea that is quickly spread throughout the internet. Memes that are meant to be humorous go under the famous label of "Dank memes". The memes seen in the animation world are called "animation memes" where one person uploads an "original" video of a character animated to be doing something. Other animators then imitate it with their own animation, sometimes adding their own twists.
