Today marks the 121st anniversary of the Barbados Customs and Excise Department, with renewed focus on training, technology and improved service delivery.

Finance Minister Ryan Straughn says the department is critical to border security, revenue collection and the facilitation of legitimate trade.

The new Comptroller of Customs says modernisation will be central to her vision for the department.
