We visited the Institute for Experimental Physics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. The soft matter physics department, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr Martin Kaltenbrunner, works on projects of new technologies with soft and elastic materials such as polymers, elastomers and hydrogels.
With the Speedy laser, prototyping at the institute has been significantly improved, as the team can now produce everything from design to manufacturing under its own responsibility. In addition, their own measuring devices, setups, molds, materials and much more can be developed independently and produced directly with the laser.
