I'm gonna say it up front. I cried when making this.
I am a theater kid, and I was apart of a high school theater group for last couple years. This year, I graduated from that group; I performed my last play and took my final bows. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't emotional. Theater was always something I cherished, even as an introvert.
When it came to Digital Circus Finale songs, I saw a lot of people write about Jax and Ribbit. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but I didn't see as many people writing songs that give the show a direct sendoff. Nearly everyone is sad that the show is ending, and reasonably so. I decided that I wanted to give this show a big goodbye. Since it really has changed my life for the better.
The reason I brought up theater is because I wrote most of this song with my theater graduation in mind. The lyrics revolved around leaving something behind that you loved, but can't really keep. That was how my graduation felt. As I wrote this song, all of those emotions returned; I remembered looking around at the audience, knowing I would likely never be in this position again, and my stage partners, knowing I will probably never perform with them again.
This song genuinely holds a piece of my heart in it. GLITCH, Gooseworx, if by some chance you're reading this, I just want to say thank you.
