Since I can't whistle very well, my dad and my brother Rey' did the whistle... together, actually. You're listening to two halves of different whistles, believe it or not!
This is a really important song for me-- because I feel like parenthood and guardianship are two topics that aren't talked about enough in songs. (Maybe all that stupid stuff people say about that awesome song Clair got people nervous or something.) Anyway, this is from a canned musical called The Other Franklin, and this is one of the first times a dude has sung this song, especially within this complete context. Hint-hint, more dudes should. After being inspired while watching lots of Ashproductions' genius spontaneous covers, I felt I should make what I wanted to see. It was sweltering, but the song deserved some classy black attire. Between every take, I ran down the hallway to drink water, then dashed all the way back before the song looped over. I bet I ran at least a football field's length in the 4 hours I spent filming.
