With stories from his experiences among the Tarahumara, David builds the case that taking time to learn language and culture well is essential toward effectiveness in establishing believing communities cross-culturally. Worldview and culture cannot be separated from a people’s language. Using principles from the book Becoming Equipped to Communicate, David stresses the need to immerse oneself in the culture through observation, then investigation, and finally participation in the everyday experiences of the people.
