Cello virtuoso Yo-Yo Ma discussed the importance of culture and cultural education through music. In conversation with David Gergen, he described how his Harvard concentration of anthropology has served as a guiding framework for his approach in both musical and educational endeavors, most notably through The Silk Road Project, his not-for-profit arts foundation. Mr. Ma also performed portions of the Bach Cello Suites for the audience.
