Cult-de-Sac #1 from Ignition Press takes one of the most stressful parts of modern homeownership — the HOA — and turns it into a chilling horror story.

Written by Cullen Bunn with art by Fico Ossio, Cult-de-Sac follows the Hanson family after they move into a seemingly normal new neighborhood. But when breaking the rules of the HOA leads to unexplained and terrifying consequences, they quickly discover that something much darker is happening behind the perfectly maintained lawns and quiet streets.

In this spoiler-free review, I talk about the atmosphere, slow-burn horror, escalating dread, Fico Ossio’s increasingly dark artwork, and why those final pages left me needing the next issue.
