Eric Hernandez, author of The Lazy Approach to Evangelism and founder of EHM Apologetics. Eric walks us through 1 Peter 3:15 and makes the case that defending the faith isn't a suggestion or a hobby for theology nerds, it's a direct command for every believer, and he unpacks the story of doubting Thomas to show exactly how Jesus responded to doubt with evidence, not guilt trips.

From there, we get into some of the biggest problems Eric sees in the modern American church, from the "seeker friendly" Sunday morning model to what he calls the "fast food gospel," a version of Christianity built around personal happiness that completely falls apart the moment someone experiences real suffering or is confronted with a different culture altogether. He shares a powerful story from a persecuted church in Bethlehem where new believers are given two weeks just to count the cost of converting, and explains why so many young Christians are deconstructing their faith after being sold a gospel that was never actually true to scripture in the first place. We also dig into the three dominant "strongholds" shaping culture today, postmodernism, scientism, and naturalism, and how understanding someone's worldview changes everything about how you talk to them.

By the end of the conversation, Eric breaks down his "lazy approach," a framework built on theological triage, knowing how to answer instead of memorizing what to answer, and trusting that the outcome of any gospel conversation was never on you to begin with. He shares real, personal stories, including leading a young woman to Christ and evangelizing to Mormons in Utah, that show what this actually looks like in practice.
