Direct Action Everywhere - DxE | Crucial testimony given by former firefighter, correspondent, and long-time activist. @DirectActionEverywhere | Uploaded October 2023 | Updated October 2024, 13 hours ago.
On day 21 of the Sonoma rescue trial, we got to hear from three more witnesses. Caroline Paul, a former San Francisco firefighter who explained all the similarities of working together as a team to save lives as a firefighter and as an animal rights activist. Julianne Perry, who documented the entire Sunrise action through a multi-hour live stream on Facebook. And finally, Zoe Rosenberg, who founded HappyHenAnimalSanctuary when she was only 11 years old. Robert Waner showed the jury several of the wonderful protests done by Zoe over the years trying to make them sound bad when in fact, Zoe explained why she was so proud of the actions she has taken over the years that have elevated the serious and horrifying conditions of animals at factory farms across the nation.
All of these witnesses were allowed to briefly, without emotion (the judge ruled), describe to the jury some of the terrible things that they saw at Sunrise and Reichardt, even though the jury was not allowed to actually see the condition of the animals at those locations. They also attempted to explain to the jury that many attempts were made to contact all of the proper authorities prior to these actions, but the prosecution was doing their best to object and keep information hidden from the jury.
