Zez Retro | CRT hunting in Tallinn, Estonia @ZezRetro | Uploaded September 2021 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
I had a free Friday afternoon so it's time to do some CRT hunting!
I found a classified ad in my area with no picture and the only description as "Sony CRT Trinitron, 5€". The guy lived about 30 minutes into the countryside and I thought if nothing else I'll have fun.
It turned out to be a KV-M2151KR from 1992 which was the Russian varient of this model. That doesn't make it valuable or special, just a bit obscure. Note: In the video I think it says "KP" but now I realise it says "KP" and that is pretty obvious :D Thanks to Xoferif for pointing it out
Earlier this week I also picked up a KV-M1450A from a young local bloke who was into gaming but needed to clear up the space. I am really keen to get a 14 inch Trinitron in top shape but this one is a bit rough. No matter what I do, there is no OSD, even for the volume. Can't get into the service menu either.
All in all, two reasonable CRTs. Nothing likely to become my daily driver but still, its better than then ending up in the trash.
Thank you for the kind comments and support. This is my first "adventure" video and I had fun. I was driving to go see the guy and I thought "wait, this should be a video!"
You might like some of the other things I do too
