Avid CNC | CRP4848 Aluminum Milling @AvidCNC | Uploaded July 2012 | Updated October 2024, 2 days ago.
Our 4'x4' CNC machine milling out a prototype motor mount out of a piece of aluminum.
Cutting is done with a 3/8" HSS cutter in a 1.5 kW air colled spindle. We're using a 1 mm depth of cut, and a feedrate of 60 IPM.
For video purposes we did not use a misting cooler, however these are highly suggested when machining metal, and a carbide endmill would provide superior life and faster cutting speeds.
