Tania Saleh | Crowdfunding For Tania Saleh's 2014 album " " @taniasalehofficial | Uploaded 10 years ago | Updated 1 day ago
"I have always dreamt to become a musician and it was always very hard to convince people that I can do it.
My mother thought I was insane, people still ask me why bother when everything around you doesn't help.
Until now, whenever I tell someone I am a singer, they say: 'Oh... but you don't look like one."
I never had any support from production companies. I have always paid to produce my music and each album used to take an average of 6 years to be released.
After the release of my second album, I started writing new songs until Erik Hillestad, a Norwegian producer came and watched me perform them live and gave me the chance to record them in studio with the best musicians between Beirut and Norway. It was like a dream come true. For more than 3 months, I was in heaven.
Now the songs are recorded and mixed. I realized there is still a lot of work to be done to release them: CD cover, posters, music video, website, media campaign, launch event, launch concert etc.... So I got to the point where I could not do it without help, financial help, that's where Zoomaal came in with the idea to do a crowdfunding campaign. The idea is very simple: you pitch in with a monetary contribution and you get a reward in return: personal drawings, new cd, t-shirt, special cd box containing all my cd's or all of those, you choose.
There is no other way to find a proper production support when the political situation is in its worst times, of course no government is ready to support Lebanese music, and all the production companies are busy with other money-making dolls.
So either I continue making music or I stop, you decide..."
