Back in the day it seemed if you were famous, you'd have ended up visited the Channel Islands at some point. Indeed, the archive is full of people like Sean Connery, Morecambe & Wise, Tommy Cooper and The Rolling Stones all having fun in the vintage sun.

And here's an example of the pulling power of the islands. Crossroads was a soap that in its prime attracted 15 million people. The series saw all sorts of shenanigans occur in a West Midlands motel and was hugely popular.

When the programme reached it's 1,500th episode in 1971, the cast and crew of Crossroads were treated to an trip to Jersey, complete with champagne on arrival...
