OK. I've lost it. Bought a crossbow pistol from Amazon to use as the basis for my random wire antenna launcher. There are a couple of good reasons to do this over one of the popular pneumatic launchers. The primary of which is that you get unlimited shots without need of a compressor.
Of course crossbows and bolts aren't designed to haul anything along with them, so some modifications - serious modifications - are needed to get this thing pressed into service.
For starters I have to attach a fishing reel to the pistol. Fishing line is the perfect material for tossing a long distance with a small weight, but it's unruly without a reel to keep it on.
Then there's the bolts themselves. Too light, and no place to attach a string.
All obstacles overcome and a successful antenna erection (can you say that on YouTube?) at the end. Come along for the ride!
