Crop dusting in Hanover Virginia. This crop duster pilot or as known in the aviation community, an AG pilot (agriculture pilot), is incredibly talented as he sprays these crops for pest. This appears to be an Air Tractor. Air Tractor 402, Air Tractor 502 or Air Tractor 802? I'm not sure, so comment below if you do know what type of Ag plan this is. We pulled over on the side of the road to get our own personal stunt show. I have been to some great air shows, and seen stunt planes in the form of crop dusters or agricultural aircraft, but nothing like this. This unintended airshow was better than the real thing! I don't think the Blue Angels would have upstaged this guy. The locals see this guy flying his Air Tractor out of the Hanover Airport all the time. I have seen him before come in tight for a landing on the airstrip while I was a the airport getting my first ride in a Pitts S2a. You hold your breath wondering if he is going to make it, if you have never seen him fly before. I want a ride in the Air Tractor!
You don't see crop dusting planes much anymore so it was a rare moment I enjoyed while I inhaled pesticides. Who know what the long term effects the chemicals will have on me, but it was worth it! This video is nothing like being there in person, but I did the best I could to capture the airplane's low flying stunts on my cell phone. It probably was all in a days work for this airplane pilot in his Air Tractor, but all I saw was a flying stunt plane and a free airshow.
