The crochet puff stitch (puff st) is a raised stitch that puffs out into a circular shape. This stitch is crocheted a little differently because it is made by using loops instead of stitches.

To make the crochet puff stitch you first want to insert your hook into the appropriate stitch. After you yarn over and bring the loop through the stitch you then want to draw the loop up to the height of the previous stitch.

Working in the same stitch, repeat the yarn over, and drawing up a loop process two more times. This will give you 7 loops on your hook. Yarn over and then draw through all 7 loops on your hook.
