Crochet Log Cabin (center out) Quilt Block Motif Tile / Granny Square (Full Tutorial!). Traditionally this design was made using waste fabric, scrapped ribbons, and recycled clothing. It gained popularity during the mid-1800’s acquiring the name “Log Cabin” design. While there are many varying patterns, this classic crocheted version is based off the “center out” block design.
