After taking our Crochet Instructor Training program, you might wonder where and how you can find students. I’m working with my local yarn shops (LYS) to bring Crochet Help Sessions to the community, and here’s how it’s going so far.
1. Create a memorable schedule: Every Thursday from 1-3, for example. Something that is easy to memorize and replicate.
2. Create social media events: Once you set a schedule, create recurring events that tag your LYS as the co-host. This will expand the reach of your audiences and give people a social reminder.
3. Wear (or bring) a crochet project: I like to wear a crochet hat (it’s winter now), as a visual way to express my knowledge and skill. But, especially if there is a gap in service, have a crochet project on hand to work on (or show off).
4. Bring crochet resources: (affiliate) amzn.to/41TheDP this book explains basic stitches, techniques, pattern reading, stitch diagrams, various stitch patterns, and projects worked in rows, joined rounds, continuous rounds, and combinations. It is a tool to teach various aspects of crochet at your fingertips.

6. Payment: I have two suggestions - 1) Students pay for their help session, then you split the payment with the LYS. 2) The LYS pays you directly for your time, offering the service free to students.
