Today I am sharing with you my Crochet Hawthorn Flower pattern. This year I will be continuing to share Free Crochet Flower patterns with you but this time I am following a theme which will include everyone. I will be releasing a birth flower each month. At it is May it is time for Crochet Hawthorn flower.
Make your flower as a gift for a loved ones birthday or create a crochet bouquet for yourself.
In this tutorial I will also show you how to you can create a realistic Hawthorn flower and how to paint on crochet.
This is a quick easy crochet make which can be made with any yarn of your choice. To create this flower I have used two differnt weights of Yarn - sport and Lace with a 2.5mm crochet hook for the flower and a 1.75mm crochet hook for the stamen to create a realistic flower.

Materials
* 3 meters White Sport weight Yarn
* 1 meter Yellow Lace weight Yarn
* 2 meters Green Sport weight yarn
* 2.5mm | US Size B Crochet hook
* 1.75mm | US Size 4 Crochet Hook
* Scissors
* Tapestry Needle
* 40cm piece of wire
* Pliers
* Pink & white Acrylic Paint (optional)
* Paintbrush (optional)
Gauge: N/A Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your chosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your flower keep the form.
Size: My crochet Flower is 3cm diameter.
Notes: The flower is made in the round. Stamen is made as an individual motif then sewn into the center of the flower. A wire is threaded through the base of the flower then green yarn is used to wrap around the wire. This pattern ONLY includes the flowers.
