Critical Path Analysis Explained | Project Scheduling | Sociologylearners | Video by Khushdil Khan Kasi

In this video, we explore Critical Path Analysis (CPA), an essential technique in Project Management used to plan, schedule, and manage project timelines effectively.

Critical Path Analysis is a method used to identify the longest sequence of dependent activities in a project. This sequence is known as the critical path, and it determines the minimum time required to complete the project. Any delay in these critical activities will directly delay the entire project.

You will learn how CPA works step by step. First, all project activities are identified. Then, their dependencies are determined, followed by estimating the duration of each task. These activities are then arranged in a network diagram to visualize the flow of the project.

The analysis helps calculate key scheduling values such as early start, early finish, late start, and late finish, which are used to determine which activities have flexibility (float) and which do not.

The video also explains the concept of float or slack, which refers to the amount of time a task can be delayed without affecting the overall project completion date. Tasks on the critical path have zero float.

In addition, Critical Path Analysis helps project managers prioritize tasks, allocate resources efficiently, and identify potential delays before they become serious problems.

Key topics covered in this video:

What is Critical Path Analysis
Identifying the critical path
Network diagrams and task dependencies
Early and late scheduling calculations
Float (slack) and its importance
Applications in project planning and control

Whether you are a student, project manager, or preparing for exams, this video will help you understand how to manage project schedules and ensure timely completion.
