I make this Crispy Tofu Katsu whenever I’m feeling nostalgic for my childhood summers. My family used to drive out of town and stop at Ono or L&L Hawaiian barbecue for lunch plates, and I would always order the chicken katsu! 🍛

They key 🗝️ is to freeze and defrost the tofu ahead of time to make the texture resemble chicken a little more.

Then the tofu is dredged, dipped in a flour + cornstarch batter, breaded in panko, and fried until golden brown! It’s really that easy. Grab the full recipe at the link in my bio. 🥰
