This video is sure to make real violin makers and luthiers like @AskOlaftheViolinmaker, @RosaStringWorks , or @violinmakingwithsofiavettori lose sleep at night. I'm normally a guitar guy. I repair and build guitars and amps mostly, but here I'll unbox the cheapest 1/2 size violin I could find from Glarry for my daughter who is taking up the instrument. The entire package with bow, case, rosin, shoulder rest, and extra strings is a whopping $59! We'll see how much work is involved in making it playable for a student. First, is it even possible? Second, can I - a guitar guy - even do the necessary work myself?
