This is the de-facto main theme for Crimson Dawn, my alternate-history universe in which a New USSR forms out of the ashes of an economic collapse, a fascist takeover, and finally a Revolution and Civil War against those fascists. The web-novel take place during and after these events, following the life of its first leader, Rik Latyeskov, and the challenges he faces when leading the fledgeling superpower through hell and back. Any similar names, events, characters, etc within this fictional universe are coincidental, and despite its seemingly-political nature, it was never meant to be a political statement.
