High above the rolling Derbyshire landscape, the FPV drone dives into the vast open expanse of Crich Quarry and around the nor disused equipment. Once a centre of limestone extraction, the quarry is now an unmistakable scar in the hillside – its towering rock faces and terraced benches revealing millions of years of geological history.
Sweeping low along the quarry floor, and up to the jagged edges and sheer drops making this a dramatic playground for fast and agile flight.
As the drone banks upwards, the panoramic view opens to the surrounding countryside – the village of Crich with its iconic Stand monument on the horizon, and the patchwork fields of the Peak District stretching away beyond.
Once alive with the sounds of blasting and heavy machinery, today Crich Quarry has a quieter, almost forgotten beauty – a hidden pocket of wilderness carved by industry and reclaimed by nature.
