"Creatures of Character" is a brand new resource you can bring to your classroom that reaches students in a unique, creative way. Research indicates there has been an increase in online bullying and bullying in schools. This new innovative program from the creators of TV's Scaly Adventures® is simple, easy, and very effective in creating a discussion around bullying.
This virtual program reinforces the 5 principals of social-emotional learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making. By incorporating the use of animal character models, students are taught basic attributes that help them to not only recognize bullying but encourages them to be a part of ending it. This program also helps students who may be prone to bullying understand the destruction that this activity brings to others as well as themselves.
This virtual program consists of 5 modules over 5 days, lasting approximately 10 minutes each including time for reflection and discussion. Also included for principals and teachers is a pdf discussion starter sheet that helps teachers reinforce the materials presented in the videos to draw students into a reflective conversation.
