Hey everyone! Today Im here to talk a bit about fashion with disability or chronic illness. When I first started needing to use a cane, I had some MAJOR feelings over it and how it would impact the way I looked, the way people looked at me, and the way I felt about myself. I may do a future video talking more about this, but lets suffice it to say it was a journey!
Since then, Ive found various items and hacks to making my spoonie accessories fit my style. This has helped me change the way I think about them. Now they make me feel cool and confident, while, of course, still helping me navigate the world with chronic illnesses.
This video discusses: Ring Splints, Compression Gear, Mobility Aids, and Face Masks. The information is all based off of my own experiences, so please note that the price/insurance information may be different for you. Definitely check into your own plan before you purchase anything, unless youre prepared to pay out of pocket for it!
