A Boomwhacker activity for primary school children using word association. Download associated resources here: funmusicco.com/boomwhackers-with-word-association

This is a music lesson idea for primary or elementary school students, by the Fun Music Company.

In this activity students will use word association to learn rhythms and then use Boomwhacker pitched percussion tubes to play the rhythms.

This is an activity designed for young primary or elementary classes, ideally kindergarten, grade 1 or 2.

It shows the basic activity of "wait to eat the doughnut" using an animated bouncy ball, and then shows how to expand it.

Students will expand the idea by discussing the idea of playing the song with different rhythm patterns representing different foods.

There are other ways to expand as well which are discussed including altering tempo and dynamics.

The animation is part of the Fun Music Company's popular Boomwhacker beatz program of materials for music lessons.

Boomwhacker activities also feature throughout the Fun Music Company curriculum program for primary or elementary students.
