I’m finally creating my own grimoire! In this video, I’m sharing how I’m starting and organizing my witchcraft grimoire, what I’m putting inside, and why I chose an A5 six-ring binder instead of a permanently bound Book of Shadows.
After spending time again with Dee Norman’s The Seeker’s Guide to Grimoire Magic: Unlocking Secrets from Old Texts, I started thinking more seriously about what a grimoire actually is and what I want my own magical record to become.
I have years of magical practice scattered everywhere: ritual oil recipes, herbs and correspondences, ingredient activations, divination spreads, prayers, spirit and ancestor work, protection practices, seasonal rituals and notes from things I’ve experienced along the way.
It’s finally time to bring it all together.
But I don’t want a perfect grimoire that sits untouched on a shelf.
I want a living grimoire.
One that gets written in, reorganized, stained with oils, changed when my practice changes and filled with the things I’m actually learning and experiencing.
And because my Virgo brain already knows what will happen the first time I mess up a page or decide something belongs in an entirely different section… I chose a binder. 😂🌙
