The Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism is at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa to see how they are decorating for the holiday season. Get the inside scoop from Bridget Farmer with the Resort Décor Team that decorates Dollywood’s Dreammore Resort & Spa each year.
“The decorations at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa are completed each year within ten days. Every year the trees are designed completely different from the previous year in the way of placement and the items that are used to decorate. We want the resort to look and feel as though it is very homey. The Christmas décor must be complete all the way around so that people can enjoy it from anywhere they are sitting.
The focus this year has been primarily on the floral aspect. One of our favorite parts of the DreamMore décor are the lanterns and the trees, which give it a completely different look than what is seen naturally in most Christmas décor. It is a design that comes from years past when people would put candles and lanterns in their trees, so it’s got a little modern twist. We love seeing the families coming in and taking pictures in front of the tree and Santa. To see them enjoy the decorations is truly one of the most rewarding things that we do as a company.”
