Join us for a special event with Gnomon alum Kasita Wonowidjojo, Senior Texture Painter at Digital Domain, exploring her approach to creating believable textures for film production and personal projects.

Kasita shares how she analyzes reference and translates those observations into texture work. Using a photograph of a knight’s armor, she demonstrates how material, construction, roughness, and wear inform her Substance 3D Painter workflow. She also shares a hand-painted skin study and discusses how it differs from scan-based workflows used for digital doubles in film.

The presentation also covers Kasita’s approach to organizing projects in Mari and using reusable masks to keep texture work clean, flexible, and easy to revise. Viewers will gain practical techniques for their own projects while learning how these same principles support an efficient film production pipeline.

A 2020 Gnomon graduate, Kasita specializes in texture and look development for film, episodic, games, and commercial production. Her credits include Disclosure Day, Thunderbolts, A Minecraft Movie, Captain America: Brave New World, Secret Invasion, and The Electric State.
