❤️ I’m creating ATCs for a daily art challenge throughout this month, playing with my scrap pieces for 15-30 minutes a day. (Open the description box for more info)

It’s a fun way to use all the scrap papers, die cuts, embellishments, cute packaging images, and other bits and pieces that I’ve been collecting or came in happy mail. It’s also a good way to practice to draw and paint faces (that is my preference) on a smaller paper size like this.

Whenever I’m trying a new painting technique and/or get left over papers from other projects, I cut them to size and have them ready to use as backgrounds for ATCs. Sometimes I do that with colorful packaging as well and I don’t mind the thickness of the paper as I will eventually adhere it to cardstock or paint the back with black acrylic paint.

You will see me use watercolors, gouache, alcohol markers, paint pens, soft pastels, colored pencils, inks, etc. and I usually like to embellish these small pieces of art with glitter markers, nail decorations, stickers, and give them texture with 3D paints, foam tape, and glossy accents. This time I also play with a sticker maker that I recently got that is very handy to use for intricate die cuts.
(If you have any question about something you see me use please don’t hesitate to ask me about it in the comments)

And for you that are new to this: Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are (2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches /64 mm × 89 mm) miniature artworks, exchanged and collected by artists.

Hope you enjoy my process and get inspired to create your own ATCs!
