Kikiyaya Zen Gardens is a private residence in Cambodia established in 2024. Kikiyaya started in the Netherlands in 2011 when Veronique created a 200m2 Japanese style dry rock and moss garden at her holiday retreat in the forests of Bilthoven on the Utrecht Hill ridge Nature Reserve. It took Veronique 2 years to create Kikiyaya and 10 years to perfect the garden. After living in the Netherlands for 12 years, Veronique aquired 4400m2 of land outside Kampot City in Cambodia, a stone throw away from the Gulf of Thailand, with a perfect uninterrupted view over rice paddies and salt flats onto the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc and the nearby Cambodian island of Phnom Dong. New Kikiyaya borders an ancient Muslim burial ground with old tropical trees that serves as a borrowed scenery for Kikiyaya. New Kikiyaya consists of 6 permanent structures in a Khmer Roman Franco Sino Japandi style. Kyūden Kitsune, the main house, Chīsana Kitsune, a private guesthouse, 2 gatehouses, Monbangoya 1 and Monbagoya 2, and two pump and utility buildings.
