I'm trying out a variety of freeze dried meals with my family to determine which ones we should store in our RV for emergency purposes. There's always going to be a time when you're boondocking in a lovely spot and you run out of food. Instead of packing up and heading for the nearest grocery store, we keep a stash of freeze dried food in the coach so that we can break out a meal and stay an extra couple days.
The emergency food kit is also available in case of a natural disaster like an earthquake that knocks out power in our house. Our emergency food kit will have a week's worth of food for the family and will stow nicely in one of the cabinets in our rig.
In this video I'm reviewing Mountain House Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. I was surprised at the quality of the meal and it will definitely be included in our emergency food kit. The bacon tastes great and the eggs, while not exactly like fluffy scrambled eggs right out of the pan, certainly scored well enough with the family on taste.
In upcoming episodes I'll be reviewing Mountain House Spaghetti, Italian Style Pepper Steak with Rice and Mexican Style Rice and Chicken - all gluten free!
