How do you create Cinematic Sound Effects? Build a sound booth that will up your Foley game! In this video we build a near soundproof room with minimal echo and reverb. Materials we used:
2x3x8' pine boards - 10 x $3 each
4x8 basic paneling (or plywood) - 2 x $20 each
4x8 Sheets of sound board - 6x (Tectum $100ea, Homasote $30ea, Carpet padding $20ea, all would work to varying degrees, in that order)
4x300' Roll of landscaping cloth - $50
Furniture blankets - 3 x $4 each
Rubber floor mat (the more texture and the softer the better) $30
1 5/8" structural screws - 2 Boxes x $7 each
2 3/4" structural screws - 1 Box x $7 each
**If you use lighting, make sure it is silent. Cheap battery powered lights tend to work best.
