CREAMY GARLIC PARMESAN BACON BRUSSELS SPROUTS | HOLIDAY SIDE DISH

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 TO 2 lbs. cleaned and halved brussels sprouts
2-3 strips of cooked and crumbled bacon
1-2 Tbsp. saved bacon fat
3/4 cup finely diced onions
4 cloves minced garlic
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and white pepper to taste

Clean and cut brussels sprouts in half. Bring pan of water to boil and add
sprouts. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until tender.
Place sprouts in cold water to stop cooking and keep vibrant color.

Cook bacon until slightly crispy and crumble into small pieces.
Save 1-2 Tbsp. bacon fat in pan.

In same pan on medium heat add butter and onions. Cook and stir for 2-3 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook one more minute.
Add flour, stir and cook for 1 minute.

Add cream and stir.. Add salt and white pepper to taste.
Bring to simmer and add more cream if needed.
Add Parmesan cheese and stir to incorporate.
Add cooked brussels sprouts, stir and cook for 1-2 minutes to heat sprouts through.
Add bacon and give one final stir.

Serve and enjoy.
