Can you really shrink down 3D printer filament production into a desktop machine? Will it produce usable filament or more filament waste? Creality sent me the M1 Filament Maker Prototype to help answer these questions and run some experiments to find out...

In this video I'll walk you through making my first batch of PLA filament on the Creality M1 Prototype and then we'll see if the result can be practically used! Next, we'll mix up some colorant pellets and see what happens to blend two colors together, and finally we'll use some ground up filament of various colors to produce a funky gradient PLA!
Keep in mind that in this video this machine is a very early prototype. So early, in fact, that many of the components are 3D printed and just painted to look finished. If you want to see this machine become a reality then consider backing the project through the crowdfunding campaign.
