For the first time ever, we have a playable 60 FPS mode in CTR.
Many people have posted videos in the past claiming to have 60 FPS patches, but those were not made properly, and absolutely full of bugs.
The following features work exclusively in our 60 FPS patch, because researchers patched all of these frame-based timers, one by one:
- Driver boosting and reserves work, making time trial playable;
- Some road hazards (seals, armadillos, etc.);
- Slide for the proper time before spinning out;
- Main menu transitions are not too fast;
- Adventure Hub warp pads look correct;
- Opening hub doors works properly (except camera zoom out);
- Boss doors open and close properly;
- Fly-in camera at the starting line of races is not too fast;
- TNTs don't explode immediately;
- Relic race "tick" sound is fixed when breaking crates;
- And more...
The following bugs still need to be addressed:
- Mask hints spawn and despawn;
- Engine sounds from karts;
- "Loading..." text;
- Exhaust particles;
- N. Gin Labs' barrel hazards;
- Blizzard Bluff's boulder hazard;
- Sewer Speedway's barrel hazards;
- And many more...
