Not too rough. He will keep up with you well still even if you're constantly Powersliding and taking shortcut. But even Turn characters can handle this without too much trouble. You can go to the left side of the crystal thing during shortcut, but I don't know if it's worth the risk, since in this game the collision is so bad that you'll lose your entire reserves snagging anything.
